Harvest Festival in Abtenau

Since time immemorial, we connect the fall harvest time! Also nowadays our region like to celebrate the harvest and the customs, traditions and rural arts with various events at the time of the Harvest Festival.

Since 1996 the Bauernherbst has been a true success story. From August to November the events can be found everywhere in SalzburgerLand – Abtenau has been a Bauernherbst village from the beginning and is very proud to revive the tradition and customs every year.

After the alpine summer starts the time to collect and process the harvest, a time of festivals, encounters and enjoyment. Here, you have the opportunity to get to know traditional peasant life with handicrafts, hikes, cooking classes, harvest festivals, Alpine cattle driving and traditional customs. The HayART-Festival, the traditional Horse Market, the Harvest Festival, the big Harvest Folklore Evening at the market square, the Farmers‘ Market – that’s some of the Bauernherbst events in Abtenau or the Lammertal.
