Eisriesenwelt Werfen

The Eisriesenwelt Werfen is the largest ice cave in the world: The entire cave system extends over 42 km in length. The first, around one kilometer long, is covered with imposing ice formations and is accessible to visitors. Since the cave is a listed building, special emphasis was placed on keeping it natural.
You enter the mysterious world of ice through the huge cave portal 20 m wide and 18 m high. In addition to the huge dimensions, the cave impresses with its ice palaces of crystal clear beauty. Monumental formations glitter effectively in the light of the miner's lamps that are given out to the visitors. You get further and further into the mountain via winding corridors with names such as "Diamond Empire".
